Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH) provides safe and healthy affordable housing along with support and skill building activities for individuals and families in need who live or work in the Tigard-Tualatin area and SW Portland.
CPAH owns five apartment complexes that provide housing for individuals and families at 60% or less of the Portland metropolitan area median income. CPAH's latest project, The Watershed at Hillsdale, provides 51 units of safe, healthy and sustainable housing for seniors in a "green" building expecting LEED Silver certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
The mixed-use project at SW Capitol Highway and Bertha Court also has a community room available for resident and public use, and features commercial condominium office space for sale. CPAH, with grants from Meyer Memorial Trust ($155,000) and The Collins Foundation ($47,500), will purchase part of the condominium space for its offices, and with fundraising continuing, hopes to move into its new office in the fall. CPAH also will host its 10th annual fundraiser HomeWord Bound: An Event of Literary Proportions, on April 4, 6-10 p.m., at the Tualatin Country Club. Hayhurst resident and popular humor writer Marc Acito (Attack of the Theater People), will join us as master of ceremonies, and New York Times best selling authors Chelsea Cain (HeartSick) and David Oliver Relin (Three Cups of Tea) will be featured speakers. The event features 14 local authors, book signings and sales, dinner, a silent auction. Tickets are $60, two for $100; reservations are required.
